Sunday 20th Feb
Sunday 27th Feb
Sunday 6th March
Driven by a decolonial perspective, we are inviting BIPOC to reimagine their futures through a series of three exploratory workshops! Together we will be examining how to deepen local connection to nature in Hackney. Infused with nature walks, discussions, creative exercises and storytelling, we encourage creativity and how we can engage with climate action in an artistic and playful way. Your creative responses will be recorded and placed in a digital archive on pachapeople.com and included within the PACHA installation which will be exhibited at the Museum of The Home.
What to expect:
Nature - 20th February 2022 (10am - 2pm).
An explorative workshop about connecting to nature, includes a guided walk with Rasheeqa Ahmad of Hedge Herbs (@hedgeherbs). Rasheeqa is a community medical herbalist based in East London and will be taking us on a nature walk, sharing information on local biodiversity, plant remedies and knowledge of local flora and fauna.
Ancestral Knowledge - 27th February 2022(10am - 2pm).
A deep dive into traditional ecological knowledge, decolonisation and intersectional environmentalism. Workshop includes guest speakers and meaning-making.
Care and Future Storytelling - 6th March 2022 (10am- 2pm).
Exploring touch and sound tech with plants. Future storytelling and facilitating contributions for PACHA, an immersive-touch-audio installation of plants and soil.
